    This Covid Thing is Weird

...if that's what it is, anyway.

Woke up around midnight with a 103 degree fever. VERY RAPID, out of nowhere fever spike. Felt bad, but not quite as bad as a fever like that would indicate.

So, ate a meal (fuel for the immune system), took some Airborne, took some advil.

Nine hours later, I'm all the way back down to 98 degrees. WTF?

    Me no get.
MH: I want to go like my Dad did - peacefully, in his sleep, not screaming in terror like his passengers.

SS: COMPLACENCY IS LETHAL. VOTE in November.

Homer: I believe that the children are our future. Unless we stop them now.

Plat: I'd rather fellate a syphilitic goat than own a Cervelo.

Seam: Saw Bjork poop onstage back in the day. It blew my teenage mind.

    Hope you get better.

Had a co-worker who ran a fever of 100+ at some point over 19 consecutive days. Then after she started getting better relapsed for another 10. She moved her retirement up, she still doesn't feel 100%. This is a almost 3 months later after she was diagnosed.

You really should get tested my friend. My daughter had it and lost several friends to it in her apartment building.
    Of course I'm sure...that doesn't mean I'm right.....

+1 on getting tested if you can. I know for some the symptoms relapse and remit over time.

I always thought it was "feed a cold... starve a fever"...

"Weird" is the right term. Now they're saying it's more of a cardiovascular thing than a virus, because of all the havoc wrought on all the organs.

Also seems like everybody's got their own unique reaction to it, so maybe you're one of the lucky ones, whose body was able to burn it up with the fever. Or something. Still, get tested.

...and maybe everyone in your house should be in self-isolation until you get the results. (I know you already know this, and I'm not judging.)

Same thing happened with my Son, although it just turned out to be a Flu. I had to call in sick to work until he got the negative results.

From what I gather, the moral of this thread is,

That H&B fund isn't going to do you any good if it's not spent.

My sincere condolences to people directly affected by this pandemic. I'm just trying to laugh when I can.

Yep, older, minorities. She lives in Detroit, high rise, 18 story building where a couple of hundred people share 2 phone booth sized elevators. She had covid and does not recommend it!

Well my good luck with covid has now come to an end.

*I* am fine, but an uncle-in-law of mine has now passed away due to it. He was 76, and lived out in Tracy, in the California Central Valley.

I didnít even know he was sick.

He was my momís brother-in-law and worked construction for my dad when I was a little kid. He had a falling-out with my dad decades ago (something work-related), which also caused him to all but stop speaking to my mom.

So, I barely ever saw the guy. But I do know his wife and two daughters (cousins) pretty well, and I know theyíre positively crushed.

Apparently, it took him two full weeks to pass. He was on a ventilator, and they tried both remdesivir and steroids. None of it saved him.

This covid thing is really real, yo. If someone you know is still denying it, tell them just how wrong they are.

And for godís sake, wear a mask. Apparently he was pretty lackadaisical about it.
