... just when you've filled your brain to capacity... another "new" term for 2020!

Is this any different than the summer windstorms we had last year?

    Derecho means right in Tagalog.

Part of me was hoping for a Filipino thread when I saw the subject.

On these hot summer days I like to mix my Derecho with some Gazpacho, and chase it with a nice cold Kombucha.

A derocho has specific criteria. It is a strong line of thunderstorms that is at least 250 miles long, has 60 mph winds, at lasts at least 6 hours. We have had a couple here in NJ the past few years and they have caused a lot of damage

Lost power for most of the day here in Iowa. Itís back now where I am, but not everywhere. Wind gusts topped out at 90+ mph. Still no internet or cable going in to day 3 after the storm.

    Derecho

Millions of acres of crops were destroyed. More than 100,000 still without power. This thing blew through like a hurricane minus the rotation. It was no joke.

Still recovering and the Governor has just now gotten around to asking for federal disaster relief. Iím sure Dump* will help because:

A.) Reynolds is a Republican governor and B.) Iowa may be in play this November.
