Holland has said that, at 40 years of age, he would rather be a professor at a university than play music.

As of 2013, Holland is a doctoral student at the Laboratory of Viral Oncology and Proteomics Research, Keck School of Medicine, where he is supervised by Professor Suraiya Rasheed

    Crazy!
also a pilot and flight instructor
The Offspring's success made Bad Religion (who had signed them to Epitaph) a heap of cash. Bad Religion has some highly educated members, there's lots of punks w/ impressive degrees.

I dug his tone back when Gilmore and May's tone was kind of considered too clean in the day. I took a lot of flack from my buds for buying Queen records back in the day I can tell you. I knew good orchestration early on. IMO anyway.

That is interesting though, PHd, very cool...

OK--this one cracked me up. I was reading a review of the new Jerry Lee Lewis biography--written by Stephen King, no less (the review that is)--and he mentions that the Killer's cousin was none other than Jimmy Swaggart!

By the age of 10, Jerry Lee was sneaking into a local blues emporium called Haney’s Big House (he urged his cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, to come with him, but Jimmy, fearing damnation, refused).

Did you know Dr_John has a Ph.D. in chemistry, so he really is Dr_John? Musician buddies gave me the nickname. May's done better at his music career than I did, but I'm guessing my H-index is higher than his.

there's a statue of him on the shores of Lake Geneva..that is worshiped often. I found it oddly placed in Montreux but it was quite the draw.

All the AM radio talk show hosts are public intellectuals.

Their papers are peer reviewed by the listeners.
