Man arrested at Sum 41 concert with 30 phones in cycling shorts: police

A man who was arrested at a Sum 41 concert in Amsterdam had allegedly stolen 30 cellphones from other concertgoers and hidden them in the cycling shorts he was wearing.

When police started receiving reports of phones being stolen at a Sum 41 concert in Amsterdam, they didn't have to go far to find the alleged culprit.

All they had to do, Dutch police said Monday, was block the exits and look for the man who had somehow stuffed 30 cellphones into his cycling shorts.

Police said they had been tipped off about possible pickpocket activity at the Canadian punk band's concert by authorities in Antwerp, Belgium, who had been informed of approximately 50 stolen phones during a Sum 41 gig a few days earlier. Because of that, they had extra personnel at the concert hall, watching specifically for phone thefts.

A 34-year-old man from Romania was arrested at the Jan. 21 concert and held in custody. Police have not publicly said what charges he is facing.

As for how he was able to fit so many phones into the pocket-less shorts, police said he was wearing other pants over the cycling shorts, and the hidden shorts were so tight that they were able to hold the phones in place.

Police said phone thefts are an increasing problem at concerts, especially ones involving punk and other genres that encourage moshing.

I visited his youtube channel yesterday and it was very interesting. I think both young artists made great progress since Menuhin and both are very good but totally different way. And even people visiting their channels are totally different ].

It was a clever decision to split the 1st price. You just can't compare Chloe's interpretation with Li's one. For me Chloe is very sincere, very natural, her music has thousands of layers, with tiny polished details and deep respect to composer's will and to the music itself.

What surprises me again and again is her instinct and sensitivity. She is able to find hidden secrets and beauty where many great artists with big names failed. Li on the other hand plays on edge from the start till the end. He has more or less just one layer, but superpolished, supershiny, no much details, no much respect but very straightforward. Li's style is able to "sell" music even to people who don't know much about it which is the bigger part of his fanpage comunity.

It is a bit like Chopin versus Liszt. As I said it was very interesting experience.

My parents are wonderful people, I love them madly. But they have been saying all this for decades - even in situations where common sense is obviously violated, where injustice is happening and where we are exactly right.

I always thought: where does the older generation get this fear, this desire to smear everything with gray paint? Why are they afraid that even for the least courage the punishment will surely fly in? My hypothesis: this fear originated in the last century and through generations reached us. One of the places where this fear appeared is Kolyma.

For maximum immersion, we drove the entire route of the Kolyma. 2000 km of hard road. 9 days journey. And a fierce, simply implausible frost.

How did people live here during the repression? How did people live after? How do people live now?

All this was interesting to us and it is important to know us. All that we know, we tell you.

More Americans wanted Hillary Clinton to be President than wanted Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has never had a wife he didn't cheat on.
