    Greta Thunberg; modern-day punk queen

    I read today that Greta refused a pretty big prize, saying that "The earth's climate doesn't need prizes, it needs action". This reminded me of a few years ago when John Lydon refused being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, calling it a "Piss stain on society"....

    Wow, it's been years since I've heard anything so punk!

    she's a young woman with admirable ideals...she's worthy of respect.

    calling her a 'punk queen' seems inappropriate and somewhat demeaning.

    ‘Punk rock queen’ would’ve been clearer.

    And yes, she is.

    Punk’s an attitude.

    And if I’m old, pretty sure you’re a mummy.

    Punk's ethos is not to GAF.

    There you have it, it's scientific.

    In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
    Ben Franklin -Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together

    Some do, some don’t, and they know who they are.

    Yeah, I knew a guy in college in the 80's who was in a punk band that actually had started to be recognized nationally. Back then he was all "blah, blah, blah, be rebellious and fight the power, yada, yada, yada". Now he's a corporate tax attorney for a huge fancy pants law firm. Go figure.

    GAF in the UD won't get you there.

    DGAF = don't give a f

    GAF = give a f

    PAF = punk as f

    I have absolutely nothing but respect for her. Her parents deserve to be incredibly proud of who she is!

    Well, she's from Ohio, but not from Cleveland, so maybe that's part of it.
