how do you embed youtube video in a post?

i know how to do it on another forum using "youtube" tags. those tags don't work here. "video" tags don't seem to work with either the youtube full path nor only the youtube file name.

so, for example, here is the full path and file name:

    https://youtu.be/tvG3y1AT-Dc

    how is it done here?

... from the share tab on the Tube video, click and then chose "embed" then copy and paste.

    Go to youtube video
    Click Share
    Click Embed
    Copy Embed Code
    Paste Embed Code here

Looks like this (beginning and end brackets removed)
    iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tvG3y1AT-Dc" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen>

i'm using an android phone with the youtube app. the youtube share link offers "copy link" (which i did in the o.p.) and a few others like gmail. there is no "embed."

does this only work using youtube in a browser window?

Good thing it was clean or we'd a both been banned.

There are other posting options on the advanced tab on this forum, but I'm not well versed in all of them.

ok, i figured it out. i copied the file name using the app. then pasted that link in a chrome window to open it. then chose to view the desktop site. then chose "embed" and copied and pasted it here. jeeze, that's a lot of work.

You could save the embed code in a note app. Replace the ???????????? with your URL. (Add < to iframe)

    iframe width="560" height="315" src="?????????????????" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen>

if there's a way to use the file name provided by the app instead of the embed code, i'd like to know it.

that would save me from opening youtube in a chrome window, then choosing the desktop site.

This used the Tube URL and the insert video tab in your posting window.

Well, it worked in preview? ???

Oh that doesn't work with the actual link. Need the embed link. Oops.
