how much does 3 litres of h2O weigh

my internet is baroque and i'm tryin to calculate how much a 3 liter water bladder will weigh in my hiking pack, in standard US real units not that metric mumbo jumbo.
you might as well have gone to Taco Bell and had a Zima while dropping a blotter and snorting Tabasco. OMFG. ~ttug

Well one gallon of water weighs 8lbs. 3 litres is approx 3/4 of a gallon. therefore, 3 litres weighs slightly more than 6lbs.

1 Litre = 1 KG so it is 3 KG.
2.2lbs per kg is a good approximation so 6.6lbs.
If I were to beat you senseless with a tire iron, what color would you bleed?..The Missus

An American gallon (?) is exactly four litres so 3 litres will be somewhat more than approximately 3/4 of a gallon.
