    I picked the wrong sport - cycling just doesn't pay enough
    These two articles showed up on this morning's newsfeed. The total prize money for the TdF was about $2.6 million, with the GC winner taking home just $556,000. Now compare that to the $3 million some kid took home for winning a video game tournament. Won by a 17 year old kid.

    Be glad you never bought into the hype, the whole sport is infested with juicers:

    Few know the sheer agony of being awake for over 30 hours straight while being in a Red Bull induced fog only to have your game control freeze from an accumulation of Cheetos dust. Then you are jolted back to reality by the screams of your mother telling you that it's time for your shift at McDonald's.

    We all suffer for the passion of the sport we love.

    And the women generally get paid less prize money in cycling.

    It's even considered a 'sport' nowadays.

    Giersrorf says he practices 8-hrs a day. While he won $3 million, the total prize money for the event was $30 million :eek:

    We're doomed as a society.

    As a teenager, I spent many hours alone in locked room "practicing" with my joy stick, but nothing of tangible value came of it.

    I was sadly born a couple of generations too early 🙄

    The way to make money these days isn't sports...it's being a social networking influencer. I figure I could make seven figures once I:

    * become attractive
    * become someone who others want to emulate

    I have a long way to go, but some day I'm going to influence the hell out of all y'all!
