Definitely an icon in the world of mountaineering.

Well worth a viewing if you can find it.

Great climber and part of a great family of climbers. My family had a backpacking store in the late 70's when you called them to make an order you either talked to Jeff or Greg Lowe. I was in awe when I got to talk to them. The 80's were a last time of big challenges in mountaineering before it became almost mainstream. I miss the days when there were only a few big expeditions to the Himalaya each year and you looked forward to reading about them.

Sold my 1979 Lowe pack a few years ago, it was my friend for 30 years, from hikes around here to the Grand Canyon it took me a lot of places. Lowe Alpine is no more but they were one of the pioneers of internal frame packs.
