    My money is on dog.

The gait seems to "bumpy", the ears too tall and pointy, and it's acting way too tame to be mountain lion.

nope, chupacabras are generally reported to be hairless...one DNA investigation shows them to be a hybrid of coyote and Mexican wolf.

    it looks feline to me...

WHO CARES WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL!!!???

That is some SERIOUS swagger to walk in camera, hold your line while some human chatters on, walk by without a noticeable sniff, then proceed home to the ole ball & chain and rug rats!!!!! Or, it's day at the office was just that bad.

The bigger question here is why is anyone paying attention to anything that happens in Utah County? I live in Utah and I swear by all that is good and holy that Utah County holds the world record for the most stupid, inept, egotistical, self centered, pretentious SOB's in the United States of America. The rest of the State makes fun of that place, we call it NUTCO (Northern Utah County)

    P.S. It's a dog.

Don't hold back. Go ahead and express yourself.

Maybe that is the answer. The dog had seen enuff of the live spot, had enuff, and decided "Californey Is The Place I Outta Be"

Every State has at least one, or the whole State is one.

Dog. A cougar has rounded ears and longer tail.

Canine, not feline, certainly. My guess was coyote, but the calm behavior around people would not be typical.

Coyote tails are less stout, more shaggy. Zyzbot's link show a picture of the dog in question. I'm not sure how the newscaster, with a front-on view of the animal, could have questioned wither it for a dog or not. I guess it was dark outside.

Pretty fun video. Dog does seem likely although that tail is similar to a mountain lion. Seems a bit big for a coyote. But anyway, pretty sure the coolest creature on earth is the mallard duck.
