    Last Night's Wind

... the dog everything just shy of Tauntaunning my ass to keep calm.

Fortunately, no real damage here (took out dangerous trees a year ago as well as some trimming) and never lost power (or My Internet, My Precious).

Oddly though, not much of a temp change on either side of the front (we were close to the low center).

At least the dog is no longer looking at my insides as her ultimate haven.

S Central WI here, we had up to 60 mph winds and thunderstorms. Absolutely freak weather for the end of February.
    Of course I'm sure...that doesn't mean I'm right.....

And where might "here" be ?.

I mean really, why can't folks maybe add a tidbit of additional information that might make the thread a tad bit more interesting.

We had strong winds here on Long Island as well. Nothing major fell down though.

… so, my locale is more interesting than my dog trying burrow under/in me in the bed?

Yeah, I'm guessing the story of your dog opening you up and burrowing into your corpse will make national news. Then we'll know where you were.

I work Wednesday through Sunday at a hotel near the shores of Lake Michigan. We've got an outdoor patio connected to a penthouse events area. The wind was so strong that it blew both sets of exterior doors open, and pulled the pneumatic closer off of the frame (taking down part of the frame itself with it). It was all I could do to lash the door closed with a rope, then apply a clamp to the closers so the doors would stay closed.
I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?

Here in upstate NY, we had gale winds for about 30 hours straight. Of course, the factory where I work has ALL the rolly-doors facing directly into the wind, so it was a periodically cold day at work yesterday....

We had snow... then rain... then wind and bitter cold. Spent an hour and a half today chipping ice from around my daughter's car so she could move it. Finally had to use a pike and a small sledge hammer to break it free.

… I always tried to insure I had a tailwind push on the inbound leg. Also, looking at your speedo will automatically cause you to lose 3 mph no matter how hard you try!!!!

I also try and plan my ride with a tailwind home, but I don't know if I can ride into a head wind and not constantly check the speedo. That turns into a lot of 3mph losses over the course of the head wind.
