Thumbs down My wife has wheedled and cajoled me into a going to an Oscar party

I can't wait to watch that self congratulatory circle jerk hosted by a wholly unfunny alleged comedienne.

    Et tu, Kennedy?

Tonight we are having an informal Tour de California party at a friends house. This morning, my wife says, "We need to be home by 7 so that I can watch the Oscars".

I guess we all want things that we can't have. I could care less about the Oscars

I have the Tour set to Tivo. I think the coverage ends at 7 so we should be safe. Tell your wife that they don't give out awards until 8 pm, so you dont need to be home until 7:58.

I can't help you Kennedy. I'm not even sure I saw a film made in Hollywood last year. +1 on the self congratulatory b.s. I would recommend a mind numbing amout of alcohol for the evening, but alas tommorow is a work day, correct? Whatever happens, just survive the evening.

If you hate the Oscars so much, show everyone at the party (and your wife) how you feel about it and just don't play.

I don't plan to watch. I'll probably be doing something with the computer while it's blaring on in the next room. If I was drug to an Oscar party, I would make sure that people remembered me. When the show starts, and the applause dies down, just cut a loud fart, and ask if anyone can top that.

PS. Ellen D. is funny and sort of hot, in a normal sort of way.

I haven't watched the Oscars in years and don't care about them at all. However, I do like John Stewart. Does anyone know why he's not hosting this year? Did he suck as as an Academy Awards host?

My husband Mapei works in the film industry - the screenplay part of it and he sez it's gonna be The Queen and Little Children for the writing nods. Keep in mind, he's been known to be wrong.

I work in the editing part of the biz but hey, the editing one isn't in your p00l!

Ugh sounds like a nightmare. Stick close to the bar but behave and start planning what awful thing you can drag your wife to. Or just take the points and forget about the whole thing.

Oscar party, who holds one of those?

Seriously the oscars must really be hurting. I've never heard more about people holding oscar parties then this year. I suspect they need the viewers badly.

You're a better man then I. I wouldnt go and to heck with my wife being pissed.
