    More picts- from Maryland

Funny thing...a few weeks ago someone gave us a snow-blower. We couldn't get it working at first but some friends showed up to shovel and then we got it going...Nedim ended up snow-blowing the whole block.
    Skipper had a blast!

Should've come my way with that thing. I just finished shovelling my sidewalk, walkway to the house, the entrance to the driveway, and the driveway itself. Recessed driveways with 5 foot high retaining walls are a blast! Jesus, my arms hurt.

It also didn't occur to me until after I pushed all the snow off my car that I had no idea what to do with it. I ended up piling it in front of the garage door.

It makes me sad to have done all that work when it'll be melted in three days anyway.

Yours will melt, ours will turn into sheets of ice once the sun goes down. We won't be seeing clean roads or sidewalks till January thaw, which never really happens any more in New England.

    NNC Snow Observation:

The cross bike with skinny tires works pretty good in the deep, unplowed snow.

The fat tire bike works better on the plowed streets, however. I am experimenting with tire pressure on the mountain bike. I weigh around 200 lbs, - figure 215 with coat, clothes, boots - and I'm running about 35 lbs of pressure in both tires. Probably too high. I may bleed the rear down to about 30 and the front to about .... 25? The front keeps washing out and I have to make a series of hilarious swerves across the street to catch the bike.

Fun to play with a bike in the snow. Your Kung Fu has to be very good - smoothness over speed, grasshopper.
If my experience riding around Michigan State's campus says anything, take a road-tired fixie out on freshly plowed roads, and just try to wipe the grin off your face. Skidding for 30m+? Please and thank you. The tricky part is getting sufficient speed.

I miss the snow. Walking around it it, how it covers the trees and streams, and going cross country skiing nearby. I even miss shoveling. I'm planning to go on a winter camping trip to get some snow play time.

See, there's teh problem, the car should be IN the garage, not in front...

Just a bunch here, nothing epic. Got a good solid workout during lunch yesterday by tromping through the snow for the entire lunch hour. People walking on the paved paths probably thought I was nuts.

Wanted to do the same today but was lured into a dull presentation by the promise of free pizza. Will have to get some walkin' in tonight instead.

Boy have I been jonesin' for some snowshoeing, just too much to do around the house.

    Got ~20" here in MD.

Car buried, halfway through the storm, during the first shoveling of the driveway.

After the snow stopped, I went for a drive.
