A couple of outdoor kitties we've been taking care of since July, and are trying to find good homes for. The orange one is Paddy (short for Paddington) and the white & orange is Taco.

Taco's little boy, Callie, was hit and killed this past weekend. When they were dumped the road in front of our house was closed, but it was opened up late last week. Poor little guy didn't last a week. :(

    Our two boys
These guys are gone now. They made life interesting. They were good buddies and always watched each others back, and our too. We miss them. My wife is thinking she wants to raise service puppies. I think we should rescue a pound puppy. No big hurries either way. I have introduced Romeo (not pictured) to the lounge. He will be going back to his people next week. We will miss him too...

Oh, and how nice of you to say she's just a "little" bigger. Kitty needs a diet.

I'm coming up on two years of losing a pair that could be described the same way. They were together for a dozen years, and when one went, the other followed a couple of months later. I said "no more" and two days later was desperate for another. Two more days and a 1400 mile road trip later, I had one who needed a home (the female in my pics). Two months later her brother came to us. My two are wonderful and I hope they live forever. I had hopes of doing something noble like fostering, but couldn't do it.

    Cheers... :)

This is Apache, and he has been mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and rock climbing with me all over the country over the past 13 years. He rides on my shoulder mostly, but he is full-flighted and will occasionally take off and do a few loops over my head before dropping back down to my back while on rides. He is a fixture in the area that we live and often meets with some of his friends at Starbucks for a Chai Tea Latte, at McDonalds for a Sausage McMuffin, at Taco Bell for a customized crunchy taco, or at Burger King for a small burger, and we generally get in at least a couple hours of outdoor activity a day except in winter. He also enjoys breaking pennies into several pieces for the kids who meet him for lunch. (No kidding.... six to ten pieces....)

He is amazingly smart and affectionate, and my truely my best friend since my wife passed away.

Kita was a beautiful dog. Baron remembers how kind it was of him to offer him some cheeseburger "birthday cake" when he turned 16 and Baron was recovering from his other spinal surgery.

We never stop missing the pets we've lost, no matter how much we love the ones we have.
