Ah, such sweet greyhounds! Gal looks fairly young.

Our sweet Kate is pushing 13, and not doing so well. She somehow got a leg caught in a hole in the old couch she claimed, and it messed up her hips. I'm not sure how much longer she has anyway.

This is Eli! He's a miniature schnauzer, about 15 months old now.

    The pictures are:
    1. When we first got him, he was about 7 months old at that point. We rescued him from a shelter.

    2. Eli and my wife Sarah and his first interaction with the ocean. It didn't go well, he is terrified of the water.

    3. Eli watching the sunset on the beach with us.

    4. And this is him now, with a fresh haircut, looking very much like an old regal Englishman.

He is probably the most docile, friendly, loving dog I have ever known. We weren't sure if we should get him back when we did, but looking back it was probably one of the best decisions we made.

Oh my; Willie is adorable. He looks like a wild man, too. Have fun! Good on you for giving him a home!

    Here is my family

Pics 1 & 2: Jack - 11 year old Red Heeler adopted in 2002 - loves running and swimming. Friendliest dog I've ever known. He honestly thinks everything and everyone is his friend. I wish I could find the pic of him lounging in his play pool with a big frog sitting on him.

Pics 3 & 4: Kyle - 12 year old Basenji/Terrier adopted in 2003 - loves laps and cuddling. He is a little bit of a trouble maker, but he is a terrier after all. He was an owner-surrender that we adopted from our vet in '03. Whoever it was that gave up on him didn't know what a wonderful soul they were blessed with.

Pic 5: Desi - 12 year old Border Collie/Aussie adopted in 2002 - loves frisbees, balls, sticks, etc. Smartest and most loyal dog I've ever known. Had advanced arthritis when we adopted her...could barely walk. Put her on a glucosamine regimen from day-1 and she has been able to run, jump and play since that time with absolutely zero complications.

Pics 6 & 7: Rocky - age unknown...he found my wife last year and decided she would be his caretaker.

    Pics 8 & 9: Pinky - 16 years - a walking contradiction who lives for chasing lasers.

Pic 10: Dusty - Pinky's brother, died last May. He was the sweetest cat I've ever known. He loved to cuddle and would be the first one to lay down next to you anywhere you would be in the house.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, our El Guapo is the actual El Guapo who is a big, dangerous man that wants to kill us.

That's quite the family, El Gaupo. RIP Dusty. I love cats who live to cuddle with you. I have one myself, and he's the best.

My two ponies (Wyoming-speak for rideable horses) Gracie and Suds this last winter, playing in the snow.

Gracie, named for "extending favor to the unforgiveable" (her mother was a b*tchy sort), and Suds, short for Suodzo, Greek for something along the lines of being able to accomplish that which one has been innately blessed with the talent for.

I]Both[/I] should've been dead last summer due to two different diseases. But I just went out and fed 'em this evening.

Great thread btw, enjoying everyone's stories and photos.

My dog, Tucker. He's a border collie/foxhound mix, 7yrs old in March, but you'd swear he was still 2. Great dog.

I had a Braque d'Auvergne but black and white that looked like your doggie. It's similar to a french pointer but from Auvergne, a region in france. He would do the same thing to me when on the couch. They're a splendid gun dog and family companion.

This is Moose. He retired from racing in November at four years old. He was a good racer, and is a great pet.

Pondas Greyeagle. He ran 93 races and had 10 wins to his name. We didn't want to call him Eagle, so we just picked our favorite "animal" name.
