    Playing possum

I spent 15 minutes outside late this afternoon throwing snowballs at a possum. Gawd they are dumb. I would hit it in the head, it would turn and retreat 7 feet, then stop and turn so I could hit him again. I got tired of the game before he did!

Yes I'm sure, that doesn't mean I'm right.
    Of course I'm sure...that doesn't mean I'm right.....

Actually, not a rodent, but nice response! I might add, he was exiting my garage when I started playing with him.

    Ah, you're right. They're marsupials!

    The more you know

Oh, you actually were playing with one. I suppose he was turning back at you to see if he can stay, hah. Don't blame him. It's cold outside.

They don't do any damage, they can hang out. They eat ticks and I hate ticks!

My latest dog is 90% indoors but still has her issues with foreign fur, but my previous two (mother/daughter) treated me to multiple trophies over 25 years (the younger actually seemed to deem indoors as punishment).

Some day, you will make a pact with the Devil to get those minutes back.

Are possums the critters that leave handprints all over the backyard?
I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?

They are pretty dumb, and have behavioral traits that predispose them to becoming roadkill - namely, they're slow and like to eat carrion, so anything dead in the road often results in an additional dead possum.

They have adapted to this by a reproductive strategy of early and often. Most of them get killed when less than a year old, but they've already had two or three litters by that time, so we don't run out of possums no matter how many we run over.

I think he liked playing ball! Now that I don't have a dog, I need someone to play ball with!

Actually they can do damage. Like if they get into the crawl space under your house and start tearing out the insulation. They were removed. Their resistance was futile.

My step son is in a motorcycle club. His road name is Roadkill. He ran over a dead opossum and it came up and hit another club member.
