Was in college right when Kraftwerk was flourishing. Have a bunch of their albums, including German (better) versions of some of them. Great stuff for putting on the headphones and turning it up.

"Computer Liebe" rolled off the tongue so well ...

Sometimes the English translation was a bit awkward; the part where the refer to a "data date" sounded odd, and the translation of "Les Mannequins" was the very literal "Showroom Dummies".

Many artists were influenced by Kraftwerk. Definitely pioneers that were way ahead of their time. When I first saw black and white publicity photos of the band, I thought they looked like a group of captured Geman rocket scientists.

This is sad, I have the Tour de France CD. Love the music with the bicycle sounds!

Wonder if they influenced the Sprockets?

    That's what I always 'ass'umed.

    Trans-Europe Express...Good stuff.
    RIP.
In reference to the Assault on Mt Mitchell...
