    RIP Paul Sherwen

Cycling broadcaster and former professional rider Paul Sherwen died on Sunday at the age of 62. He rode in the Tour de France seven times before moving on to broadcasting.

I saw this last night. It will be very sad at this years Tour without Paul.

Truly he was one of the best announcer duos in the history of all sports. He seemed by his on tv persona to be a great person as well. Who is going to correct Phil every time he calls the wrong rider or swears the break is going to stay away?

Man, woke-up to this gut wrenching news.

    I won't stop hearing your voice Paul . . . .

my friend is one of the top camera guys @ ATOC. I would call his relationship with Phil and Paul ' 'friends'. Every year he and Paul would exchange exotic knives as gifts. He introduced my daughter and I to them 2 years ago and I must say for celebrities I have never met 2 nicer fellows. They chatted to my daughter about her bike racing and which types of racing she enjoys most and were supportive and genuine. We have lost an icon of our sport and all of us will continue to hear him narrating our own rides

Met him and Phil while they were on a break at the 2011 TdF. Signed autographs for my son and chatted pleasantly for a few minutes. For me and my family he and Phil are part of the soundtrack of summer and he will be missed.

July and the TDF just won't be the same without Paul and Phil together. Wonder if Jens V or one of the other ex-racers at NBC Sports will try to fill his seat?
