    Sad news on Hollywood

I’m sorry to report that “Hollywood” a former prolific poster on RBR passed away this morning after a long battle with a serious illness.

Jeff was one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. You might remember him for his crazy interviews of cycling celebrities or his many “taken by” pictures where he would walk up to a celebrity and instead of asking for a picture of them, he would ask the celebrity to take his picture.

If you get a chance, raise a glass of your favorite beverage to Jeff and his loved ones.

Thank you for posting. Hollywood will be missed.

In memoriam, here's a shot of Liz Hatch (a Hollywood favorite, IIRC), holding a carbon fiber wheel to keep it from assploding:

Donald Trump has never had a wife he didn't cheat on.

Donald Trump has never won a popular vote in a governmental election.

There are over 13 million covid cases in the United States (as of Thanksgiving), eleven months after Donald Trump said it was "totally under control," and that "it's gonna be just fine."

THanks for posting. Hollywood was selling stuff next to me on a Velo swap in Sandy Eggo a long time ago. I was chicken to say "hello".

I enjoyed his time on this board.

Thumbs up A "Hollywood Classic" I always get a chuckle watching

I never met the man, but admired his style an outlook on life. I still recall the pictures years ago he posted of him buying beer at a store while wearing an all black ensemble consisting of a speedo and cowboy hat. Classic! I hope someone still has those pictures stored somewhere.

Rest in Peace, Hollywood. May your roads be forever flat with a constant tailwind at your back.

He will be missed. For those of you who met him in real life, he was far more than his online persona, funny as hell, smart and irreverent.... We will miss him

One of my favorite guys, ever. I feel terrible. I truly mourn. I feel for his loved ones, and everybody he ever hung with. Rest in Paradise!
Mapie is a conventional looking former Hollywood bon viveur, now leading a quiet life in a house made of wood by an isolated beach. He has cultivated a taste for culture, and is a celebrated raconteur amongst his local associates, who are artists, actors, and other leftfield/eccentric types. I imagine he has a telescope, and an unusual sculpture outside his front door. He is also a beach comber. The Rydster.

This is very sad news. RAGBRAI 2011 is still a fond memory for me. And Hollywood riding a single-speed in jorts is an image no amount of mental bleach will ever remove...
Given his penchant for nicknames, and his aversion to reading, I've decided to shorten Donald J. Trump to it's essence: Dump*

Mortality sucks. Sorry for everyone's loss.

I woke up to the news and it's been a long day. We were in contact with Jeff during his cancer treatment as the Missus went through her fight. I'm not embarrased to say eyes are still a bit red. Godspeed Hollywood.

The RBR community is a couple of hundred strong, in all it Iterations. Hollywood is a common thread.

His interview with Dario Pegoretti was hilarious! Sad that both of them are gone now. RIP, Hollywood.

This video made me smile. Thanks for posting it.

I don't recall hobnobbing with Hollywood here. My loss.

    Sorry to read this...

He was able to do 'Borat' before Borat--cringe-worthy and hilarious at the same time...

    RIP Jeff--Cancer sucks.
