Every song on the album is a classic, but this rises above the rest.

A broad spectrum but the bookend are "Nessun dorma" to Queen, Radio Ga Ga at Live Aid

Maria Mcee of Lone Justice. I remember them. I'd also like to add "Success has made a Failure of Our Home". I first heard the Elvis Costello version (which is good) but Loretta Lynn's version is better. Then I remember Sinead O'Connor made a cover but her version of Cole Porter's "You Do Something to Me" is beautifully haunting.

    For so many reasons.

It came up on my rotation as I was getting on an airplane in Pittsburgh after visiting my dad in the hospital in Johnstown, he was terminal and comitose. It was the last time I saw him.

We had a rocky relationship, which made me the father that I am to my 4 kids. I realized today, my kids are starting to get gray.

    Of course I'm sure...that doesn't mean I'm right.....

That song is incredible. I can see that being a chiller. And I see that thankfully you didn't get handed down everything.

I am not ashamed to say that it has brought tears more than once.........

A couple of weeks ago I got to give my oldest grand daughter her first REAL bicycle, complete with gears. The look on her face when she first rode it was an absolute thrill to see. I see my mom in her, I see Patsy and me in her, I see my daughter and son in law......And Vanessa, would rather be on the tag-along than playing with the electronic devices.

Got to ride with Dr Jenny and Joe yesterday. She's a strong rider.....a climber! (about 5 foot and weighs half of nothing) and her little one.....daredevil like Jenny was and she is the ABSOLUTE queen of tricycles, three wheel fixies! Uphill, down hill...

    Michaelangelo

The first song that came to mind was Emmylou Harris' rendition of "Michaelangelo".

Just watched a video of that performance. Awesome. But (and please excuse me for injecting politics into this thread) I couldn't help but take notice of Barack & Michelle in the audience groovin' to the music, and the realization that Trump has never attended the Kennedy Center Honors concert. Just reinforces what a dick he is.

Makes me think of Harry Chapin's "Cat's In The Cradle"

    Sorry for your loss.

... and the reference to Vietnam made me think of Billy Joel's "Goodnight Saigon".

Pretty sugary arrangment, as was the fashion of the day, but when Cilla hits the second line, and just blows the mesh off the mike, even the producers notice:

Donald Trump has never had a wife he didn't cheat on.

More Americans wanted Hillary Clinton to be President than wanted Donald Trump.

There are over 8 million covid cases in the United States (as of October 15th), nine months after Donald Trump said it was "totally under control," and that "it's gonna be just fine."

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
I assume you mean the Schubert. A favorite of mine for many years, too, but now even more so. It was probably my mother's favorite music, and at her funeral 5 years ago my daughter (a classically trained singer) sang it beautifully. Definitely no dry eyes there.

Listening to the radio on the way in to work today...

Merry Clayton's background vocals on The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter"... haunting.
Given his penchant for nicknames, and his aversion to reading, I've decided to shorten Donald J. Trump to it's essence: Dump*

I was "social distancing" before it was cool.

I love the Cilla Black version of Alfie. Cher's version (was it Cher? I've been suppresing the memory) was clumsy by comparison. Alfie is also one of my favorite tunes. I play it on the fiddle all the time.
Mapie is a conventional looking former Hollywood bon viveur, now leading a quiet life in a house made of wood by an isolated beach. He has cultivated a taste for culture, and is a celebrated raconteur amongst his local associates, who are artists, actors, and other leftfield/eccentric types. I imagine he has a telescope, and an unusual sculpture outside his front door. He is also a beach comber. The Rydster.
