    Stupid SKUNKS!

After 20+ years, all of a sudden we have a few skunks digging up the grass looking for food (grubs I think).

Yes, I'd love to shoot them, but discharging a firearm within city limits without my life being threatened is still illegal.

I have treated the grass with insect/grub killing stuff. I even tried something called "Critter Ridder". It's not really working.

If I catch them in the yard, I blast them with my rotor style sprinklers. I sent one away looking more like a rat than a skunk it was so wet.

    Any suggestions?
    It's a fire road.............
    I'm on a road bike..........

They have enough in common to blast down it.

To get them you have to think like a skunk. Get some plastic explosives and shape them into woodland friends like the squirrel and rabbit.

Skunks are nocturnal. Wire up some stadium lights to a motion detector switch. Pay no attention to the neighbors' complaints.

Also set up some loudspeakers and crank out some opera music. Thatíll make them move on.

Some breeds of skunks have developed an immunity to opera. If it doesn't work you'll need to step it up a notch to bagpipe music

I like skunks, they are beautiful animals, and smart. Nature played a cruel trick on them, made them nocturnal, painted them black and white and sent them out to play on the road at night.
    Of course I'm sure...that doesn't mean I'm right.....

when I was a kid my neighbor had two pet skunks, (de-scented, although they still smelled) and they really cool animals. VERY inquisitive!
