I just loved the first 30 seconds of the first vid. People knock the jam for being to popular or not avant-garde enough, ending with a snide "elitists" to close the run. I've enjoyed being an elitist since the last presidential election, and still identify myself as one when the term is used derogitorially.

    Yeah, they were great.
I loved turning people onto them.

My favorite Jam tune has always been "I got by in time" but I seriously doubt they ever made a video for it.

The Jam, while good and one of my favorite bands, I prefer the original. Heck, the Jam even covered The Who's cover of the Batman theme. They did well to distance themselves from that "new wave Mod stuff" with "All Mod Cons". ElvisMerckx check out "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight".

BTW, Keith Moon rocks yo foice!

Ha! When I saw your thread title that's the song that came to mind before I knew it was a Jam 'preciation thread. Now I really heart you.

I grew up on 'em. Still like them. Have a couple of their CD's and pull them out from time to time.

Paul Weller pwns faces. I <3 me some Oasis and once I really got into them I started listening to bands that had an impact on their sound. Noel is a Weller freak, they ve done a ton of stuff together. Now I <3 me some Jam and Style Council as well.

Man, I really miss bands with talent such as The Who back in “the day”.

What Joeh says about U2 - that's what I says about Oassis. Just say no to gallaghers.
