Imma just going to leave my Peloton on the interwebs. My house isn't worthy of such glamour. It just would't look right in the living room next to the cat scratching post or on the back patio next to the gas grill.

Is now a bad time to say that Mrs. TMB and I have a Peloton bike and really enjoy it?

One of my riding circle of mates got one a year or two ago....saw it on Strava, then didn't. They flipped it in less than a month and went to Zwift instead.

    $2000 stationary bike

    $500 bike shorts

Needling needlessly expense items and the people who need these trinkets can be fun ... although if it gets them off the couch and exercising, such mocking should be done with an asterisk of good taste.

    Point(s) of fact:

    A) The bike alone is $2,500USD...which, aside from the LCD TV on the front of it, is very primitive tech for the money.

    B) the bike alone is basically a paperweight without paying $50/month for the classes.

I am not trying to be obtuse, but I am not following. Who are you needling? Why does anyone need to needle? We can afford it, we use it, we like it. When friends ask us about it we endorse if fully. Being a satisfied customer doesn't seem like a needling kind of thing.

    It must be me.

I heard that Peloton is coming out with a low-priced, no frills model targeted for people who really don't want a very good workout. They call it the Lantern Rouge.

What if you own a peloton because the gym your wife was at was overtly racist to her and you buy one because she doesn't want to go the racist gym anymore?

I guess that doesn't sound as much fun. But hey you got your needles in didn't ya.

So you have that going for you, which is nice.

As long as you got your laugh, that is all that is important.

Hope you had a good guffaw at my expense.

Perhaps our definitions of satire is just different I guess. I come from a Swiftian background more than a, make fun of a guy who says he owns a bike on a bike forum background, but YMMV.

Didn't know that owning an exercise bike was a trigger for some folks. Will be more careful next time.

    Have a nice day.

Thanks I did --- and it was not about you, your wife or anyone in particular but about what I perceived to be a funny piece of writing. Then again, I have grumpy old colleagues who can't laugh at themselves nor life, so my days are always nice by comparison.

Your piece that you are now mentioning was your fourth, post after I mentioned that I owned a bike.

Forgive my density for not predicting our posting futures.

Perhaps people don't laugh around you because they don't find the things you find funny...funny. Different strokes and all of that. Sounds kinda judgy to me, but then again our back and forth has been predicated on your judging me for owning a bike...on a bike forum.

    Again, have a nice day.

Q: I'm considering a Peloton, but can it hold as much drying laundry as a NordicTrack?
More Americans wanted Hillary Clinton to be President than wanted Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has never had a wife he didn't cheat on.

There are over 6.2 million covid cases in the United States (as of September 6th), eight months after Donald Trump said it was "totally under control," and that "it's gonna be just fine."
