Who Did You Really Tip Over the Holidays?

Every year there are those "Today Show" type articles/segments about who to tip extra during the holidays. They get crazy- dry cleaners, hair stylists, dog walkers, etc. I was thinking about it and I didn't really have many. The only card/tip I gave out was to our trash and recycling guys. They are city employees and work damn hard all year in all types of conditions.

I read that as "dog wankers" and I wondered if there was really a market for that...

I tip no one. Any of the people who "should" be tipped make much more than me, so....sorry.

The trash truck guys sit in their truck. The trucks have the claw thing that grabs the can and dumps it in the back. They don't have to move from their warm seats.

I didn't tip anyone. Of all the typical people you are "supposed" to tip I don't utilize any of those services. The only person we have is a mail carrier and that rotates between 3 people. I was my own clothes, clean my own house, haul off my own trash, shave my head and walk my dogs.

Various departments at work took up a small collection for the people who clean the building. Other than that......garbage hasn't been touched in a week and a half. Nobody walks the cat. I think we have more than one mail carrier. I don't clean my own house. Don't go to the hairdresser during the holidays.

I like to make sure the guys in the bike shop are taken care of.

Other than that we just make sure to go big any time a tip is called for.

For better or worse, the only person that received a "Holiday Tip" from me this year, is the person that cleans our home.

Tipping is overrated. How about donating to the truly needy? How many of you did that?

    I did.

and I also dropped a hundy in the tip jar at my LCS to bump up the average take for everyone who works there. F it. I practically live there, they stand up all day cranking out capps & lattes for minimum wage and they were all very thankful. And I'll do it again. kthx

I did. And we tipped the newspaper delivery person. I gave my chiropracter/massage therapist a gift set of Hanger One vodka.
