Anyone else surprised with Mayo's pityful performance?

perhaps i have this all wrong and only the spanish people over here had great expectations for Mayo, and then we find that he not only screws up, but he alse forfeits... I mean what sort of pityfull exibition is that. Wasnt he supposed to be one of the big rivals for my idol Lance? Specially the basques will be pissed off at him...

I never thought of him as any sort of threat. He doesn't have the build to be a GC contender in the Tour. Besides he probably had too many miles in him before the start. Maybe he's saving himself for the Vuelta. I am sure the fans will forgive him.

A true observation here. No way you ride as much as he has and call yourself a GC contender in the tour...not these days. That's way Simoni's boasts last year after the Giro were never taken seriously.

I expected him to win a stage but that's it.I didn't think Tyler would do anything either.
