For the human race to be sustained, the body must have evolved to survive a 20 mph sudden impact. Reports sketchy but crash reportedly happened on fast flat section that ended in a concrete culvert.

RIP - so young and devastating to his family
I am 100% convinced the internet and social media are not the salvation to human civility.

So sad. 22 years old. Tore his liver. No kind of help would have saved him. Such promise, he had a second place behind Bernal... Heart breaking.
To date, philosophers have merely interpreted the world in various ways. The point however is to change it.

Apparently he hit a reflector on the road that caused him to veer into the ditch and hit the culvert.

Keep in mind it was raining hard at the time, and he was having some kind of bike problem, and was in the process of slowing and hailing his team car (perhaps looking over his shoulder).
