    riding indoors still

i'm in class from 8am till after 5pm, so this leaves me very little time to ride. so what i've been doing is riding on the excercise bike in the gym to make up for it. i ride 35mins to an hour a day and I do a fast group ride on saturday for 2hrs. on the stationary bike i usually ride to keep my heart rate at around 140bpm-160bpm (i'm 23years old) and if i ever get out of class early i'll ride on my bike.

my question: is riding on the stationary bike effective in keeping my fitness up?
will it help me in training for the races?
will i get faster by doing intervals on the stationary bike, i set the resistance to max for interval work?

    What's it like on Saturday?

How you do on the Saturday ride should tell you how well the exercise bike is working for you. If you remain "competitive" on the group ride, then you're good to go. An indoor workout can be quite effective if you do it right.
