Shameless plug for my racing season

My #1 objective this year is the Tour of America's Dairyland. It's a stage race spanning 11 days and 10 races. I've trained (though not enough), I've tapered (though questionably well), and I will race the series.

In fact, I will win the series

If you'd like to follow my progress, or regress for that matter, I am updating my blog daily starting today. There is a series preview today, and tomorrow's epic Blue Mounds Road Race will be a highlight, for sure.

For those of you interested, this is the proposed Olympic Road Race course for the 2016 games that might be held in Chicago. 2200ft of climbing in each 22mi lap. 44mi for the cat3's, plus another 0.2mi, 20% grade hill at the finish. A preview of the course can be found on the first video on this website: http://www.peloton-pix.com/

Good luck....3 day stage races are enough for me

Cool! A couple of my former teammates stayed the night at my house a few days ago on their way from Dallas to Wisconsin for that race. Have fun & kick lots of butt!

Oh yeah- and I did some riding up in Fond du Lac last year... it's gorgeous, and some of those steep hills really caught me off guard.

Saw your blog post today... Don't get too down on yourself. Even if your chances of overall are getting slimmer, there are still 6 stages left, which is a lot of time for good results.

    THINK POSITIVELY!!

Here are some pictures from Grafton's Cat 3 race, for you or any lurkers... Don't think there are any of you in this set, James... but there will be a couple of you with some Manitowoc pic's when I get around to posting those.

Tomorrow is a road race with double points. I can make up some good ground if I do well.

    Thanks Andrea ;)

I read your blog. Here's something you might consider: change your approach to the sprints. Away from the mindset of "find the right wheel/position leading into the sprint then jump" and toward the mindset of "jump 'em early and hard and turn my guts inside out to hold it"

Like yesterday... the way you described that course, I'd have been on the leading edge of the crowd as they swamped the leaders w/ 2 corners to go, and jumped max to get a gap on that backstraight and drill it to the line.

    Just to consider.

Just noticed that one of our "women" is in 5th in the overall.
    Did I mention she's a junior and only 16?

I jumped from 7th to 3rd overall after taking 4th in this road race. I'm only 7 points behind 2nd place and I think I can take it soon.

Sarge (1st place) is unstoppable now. I'll update my blog in ~30min. I couldn't move last night.

    Zoom!!

    This is you, right?

Is that frame a HASA / Unbadged Kuota / Ebay special ?

If you watched any of the Cat 4-5 race, I was the guy in the blue jersey who was off solo for 4-5 laps halfway through the race, and then with about 5 laps to go, bridged up to the 2-man break.

(Don't link to these pictures..... When I upload all the rest from today's race, I'll re-upload these pics and delete the files I'm linking to.. if you want to post them on your blog or something, save the files and use those)

Thanks, that is me. It was a pretty easy race today. 25.3mph average in 92 degree heat for 21 miles seemed like nothing after yesterday's 62mi in 95+ degrees.

I came around Mike Gatz for 9th place. He got 12th, which mean's I'm only 4 points away from taking over 2nd overall. Sweet, and thanks for the pics.
