    ATTN; DeRosa ID Question.

As an aspiring collector, I was pleased to see a mid-80's DeRosa SLX frame for sale in my local Craigslist, in excellent condition. However, since the bike has been ostensibly re-painted by Joe Bell and modified to fit 130 rear spacing, how can I determine the exact vintage of this bike? Would there be a serial number range to look for, or any identifying characteristics of 80's vintage DeRosas to look out for? Can I contact Joe Bell or DeRosa to determine dating?

Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated; rest assured that if I do acquire this frame I will build it up in the manner it deserves.

"They'll be making us a shoe made entirely of steel wool and canvas. Steel is real, wool is real, so it follows that steel wool is the realest material of them all."

I went to, and send them an e mail with a picture of my bike and other questions. They identified the year and original group that the bike was built with.

Serial numbers are usually at the bottom of the bottom bracket.
