Following Dave Hickey's instructions on removing the finish of anodized parts I bought myself a pound of lye, some thick rubber gloves, some 1500 grit sand paper, and a can of Nev-r Dull.
I started with a matte silver pair of Cinelli Campione del Mondo bars and stem and finished with a highly polished alloy look. Sorry, no pics of the process, but I will be repeating it later this week with another stem.
The picture of the bars show the polished finish near the stem, the original finish in the near the start of the bend, and what was left from the lye towards the ends.
