If you are having login problems, 3 things to check.

Everyone who has registered in the old system has been copied over to this new system. This means your username, password and email address should all be on file. (If you registered on the old forums when they first came out, you may not be in the system) If you've changed your username multiple times on the old system, keep in mind that it was your most recent info that was copied over. We might run into some problems with passwords not being correct, etc. So this is the order of operation on how you should try logging in here:

1.) Simply try logging in with the username/password you had in the old forum.

    http://forums.roadbikereview.com/

And enter your login/password in the box. If that doesn't work, go to the next step.

2.) Try retrieving your password. You'll be asked for your registered email address. Enter that and submit, and you'll receive an email with details on how to proceed. You must use the email address you had on file with us in our old system. If you do not have access to that email address anymore, this step will not work for you. You'll have to go on to the next step.

    http://forums.roadbikereview.com/login.php?do=lostpw

3.) If the first two steps didn't work, you can try registering a new account.

    http://forums.roadbikereview.com/register.php

This will only work if you are using an email address that is not in our system. We only allow one account per email address. If our system tells you that your email address is already in use when trying to register a new account, it is because your info is already in our new system, but that there is a mixup with your username and password preventing you from being able to login. If you are not able to login after following these steps, please post the errors you receive in the old forums system (linked immediately below) so that we can look into it:

    http://forums.consumerreview.com/[email protected]@.efe395a

We'd rather you post your problems with the new system there instead of emailing us so others can view the problems and see the fixes. If you are able to register a new account, your problem is solved.

We'll leave the old forums open for posting for another few weeks until all the wrinkles of this new system are ironed out. After that time, we'll end up migrating the old boards to the new platform, then turn off posting there so that everyone can move over to here. We'll leave those forums open for reading only, and save them as an archive.

Thanks for your support and patience.

Don't forget that username and password are case sensitive.

    Classified Sign In Trouble

    Hi,

I have no problem signing into the website with my screen name and password.

When I try to sign onto classifieds to place and ad, I get a message that my screen name is not found.

Any ideas about this. I can sign out and back in at 'Home' site, but when I go to Classifieds, I get shut down.

    Thanks.

    Another conflict causing login problems

AOL and Earthlink users must shut off their ISP software before logging into the message boards. ISP applications cause conflicts with our forums software and login problems ensue.

I've emailed the moderators with my forum issues and am not getting a response. Since I can't start a thread and can't get a response I'm left with replying to other threads in hopes of getting assistance.

I receive a message every time I log in asking me to post my first thread in the General Cycling forum, but when I try it says I must have 5 posts firsts.

I tried to post a new thread in this forum, but again, when I try it says I must have 5 posts first to start a new thread.

Either I'm having a unique technical issue, of this forum has some weird-ass restrictions.

(Sorry - would NEVER normally post this as a first post on a forum, but since I can't post a new thread, and can't get a response from moderators, what am I to do?)

@DallasMCS - you are being affected by two rules. One is the vBulletin software recognizing that you have not posted any new threads within a designated time period. The rule is there just to encourage participation.

The 2nd rule we have in place is that new users cannot create new threads until replying to a minimum of five existing threads. This rule is in place to prevent spammers from creating new accounts and then spamming the forums right away.

Reply to a few more threads until you reach the minimum of 5, then you should be able to create a new thread.

You have to post a pic of your fork so that we know that it is really you.

MarkS here. I'm in the same boat as Fixed. If physasst is likewise situated and Fixed and I are not restored to our former name/status, it will be Wild West Days in PO.

I'm guessing that along with the site attack and script append, they nuked the mods accounts to prevent post locking or cleaning up the mess.

Seems to be confirmed on Vbulletin forums.

Does this mean that we are unmodulated? Anarchy reigns!

It looks like the RBR equivalent of a bomb going of at the State of the Union Address has occurred. At least when everyone who is anyone in the US Government is gathered for the State of the Union Address, one cabinet secretary is kept away in a secure, undisclosed location in the event that a disaster occurs and wipes out everyone. Yes, anarchy reigns. But, don't get too far out of hand. Once the mods are back in control, who knows what kind of crackdown will ensue.

Now, to get us truly back to the Wild West Days of 2000 when I joined RBR, you need to compress all the forums into one and then post whatever you want without fear of the banhammer.

Anyone having trouble logging on to MTBR forums? I can't log on, so I can't report anything to the admin over there. Every time I attempt to log on, it tells me I have exceeded to number of log on attempts allowed, even if I only tried once. Any thoughts?
