    Clean or not to Clean???

Do you guys that run tubulars ever clean the glue off the rim? Is there an amount of residual glue that is too much? I figure the more the better. As long as I don't change the type of glue I don't see a reason to clean things up BUT I have been riding tubulars for only about 2 years so I'm no expert.

I ask because I will be mounting new tires and I have never cleaned up the rim. When I bought the wheel set I removed all the glue before mounting the tires but thats about it.

    Any input is appreciated!!!

I only clean off the old glue if it gets really bumpy and thick. Even then often I can smooth out the bed by using acetone and respreading the old glue. Most glues in fact use the same solvents so even changing glues I don't feel the need to totally clean the rim
