Ksyrium front hub squeaks when weighted

I have Kysrium hubs on my roadbike. When I weight the front end the front wheel starts intermittant squeaking. I also feel pulsing resistance. This seems bad. When I take the wheel out and spin it, it's free'n'easy. Spokes are all nice. What should I do?

(i misspelled ksyrium kysrium then i fixed it.)

    Sell them.

Or, check the bearing preload/replace the bearings. Only good thing about Mavic wheels is they're easy to work on.

Oh, these are SSC wheels. I googled some more and found some good old info. I played around w the wheel and I see that there's a 5mm fitting for one end of the axle and a dimpled cone-cover sort of thing on the other side. Otherwise there seem to be 2 pieces on each side that rotate freely. Once you put a wrench in the end of the axle you can tighten or loosen the dimpled cover. The bearings play is side to side not "tilting." I'll try tighter and looser and see what is the effect. If creaking and intermittent resistance remains then I'll disassemble and clean.
