    Mavic Yksion Pro UST

Anyone using these tires. I received a set for free and I am debating on whether or not to sell them.

I think those tires can only be used on the Mavic Ksyrium Dyripsium wheel sets with the ultralipsium spokes. Mavic carbonium rubber compound tubes are highly recommended.

Mavic ... who thinks of that cr@p?

Sorry. It was an attempt at humor. I find Mavic wheels to be incredibly mediocre, over priced and hyped with stupid names. WTF is a zicon spoke? Or however it’s spelled. I can’t imagine their tires are any different. But I have no experience with them so staple my face.

If it were me, I’d sell them and put the money towards a pair of Vittoria Corsa.

Sell them, but only to someone you don't like.

Save a staple for me too.

    They are 25's.

I'll probably just throw them up on Ebay. Any maybe get some GP 5000's.

I don't know how they are on non UST rims, but I can say that they go on and off with no tire levers needed on UST rims. I was able to set them up tubeless with a floor pump. Personally, I think this is the best tubeless road system out there, and seems to be hassle free. Time will tell how many miles I can get out of the tires, but having used Conti 4000S tires, I found some of those were out of round, have fragile sidewalls, and shed threads from the chafer strip that get wrapped behind the freehub and in the jockey wheels of the rear derailleur.

I think Yksion Pros are great tires. My only gripe is they wear out fast, but they are great for cornering and the ride comfort is good too. I see the Pros as a good alternative to the Vittoria Corsas and the Yksion Pros are lighter (and less expensive) than the Corsas and GP4K2s. I haven't tried the Conti 5Ks, so I don't know how the Yksion Pros will stack up against those. They have become my tire of choice for crit races though. Like I said they wear out fast but they are great handling tires. I'm of course talking about clincher tires so I'd assume that tubeless would be even better.
